The Center for Nonprofit Resources and Toledo Bar Association are teaming up to offer a free webinar designed for employers and will focus on understanding COVID mandates and accommodations for employees.
During the pandemic, employers realized many positions can be performed effectively offsite if the employer approves and provides the necessary equipment and technical support. Learn about why employers are encouraged to establish specific policies regarding remote work and offering flexibility for employees. Guidance will also include ADA, FMLA and leave requests.
Employee discipline will be addressed. It is important that employers have a written discipline policy that is realistic and enforceable. It could include a step-by-step process that begins with a verbal warning and can lead to suspension and eventually termination, but it can also be tailored to the individual employer.
Amy Luck, Attorney, RCO Law and Bill Beach, Attorney, RCO Law will help employers distinguish between independent contractors, employees and volunteers.
Lastly, Amy and Bill will cover essential updates for employee handbooks and provide policy recommendations.
