Tom Ahern- You’ve read his books and blogs and watched his videos. You’ve heard his name in certain circles… and it always makes you smile. Tom Ahern is coming to Toledo! Tom’s training is about just one thing: helping your nonprofit make MORE money from its investment in donor communications.
Join Tom for 3 sessions on Zoom. In parts 1 and 2, Tom will teach the nuts and bolts basics of fundraising communications and 6 things that are critical to every donor appeal. Then in session 3, Tom will live critique select participant work so we can all learn together.

In this workshop we examine the common roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board and its members. Participants will understand the fiduciary role of nonprofit boards, the leadership role, and the ambassador role.

In this workshop we discuss a common lifecycle that every board of directors goes through and the different purposes that boards fulfill at each stage. Participants will reflect on the stage that their board is in now. A stage-based view helps boards and organizations understand what it takes at this point in time to be effective or improve.
We will dig into how board effectiveness at any stage is supported by proactive board planning and review options for board meeting planning, board annual work planning, and board improvement planning.

We will also help you decide whether or not grants will help your organization and if they will help, how to find grant opportunities and be competitive grantseekers. Experts will cover different aspects of application steps and terms that a grant seeker will want to know. This is an introductory course. It is geared toward individuals who have little or no grant writing experience and individuals who are seeking ways to make their nonprofit organization more sustainable.

Only from the comprehensive database and powerful search tools Foundation Directory Online offers. Zachary Huber of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will provide an overview of the directory, run sample searches and answer questions to help grant-seekers understand this valuable tool available for use through the library’s business department.
