Technical Assistance (TA) is broadly defined as support to help nonprofits acquire any specialized service or skill that is not currently resident within the organization, but which it may need in order to operate more effectively or strengthen sustainability.

The Center for Nonprofit Resources provides a range of services to support local nonprofits through the entire life-cycle of a nonprofit. It’s easy to request support. - Direct, one-on-one consultation (technical assistance) and support can be scheduled face-to-face, via phone or email on a range of nonprofit topics.

The Center maintains a database of consultants that have been used by other local organizations in a variety of areas including the development of HR policies and procedures, board development, fundraising and strategic planning, to name a few. Forming a 501(c)(3)

With over 3,200 registered nonprofits in Lucas County alone, starting your own nonprofit can be a difficult proposition. Carefully consider your options before making a final decision. The term “nonprofit organization” is a tax designation; it’s not about how little profit you make. In truth, you can’t be sustainable unless you raise more money than you spend.

Dissolution of a 501(c)(3)
When an organization considers ending its life, it is both a difficult and complex process. Everyone involved needs to be involved in the decision including a nonprofit board, administrative and line staff, partners and stakeholders. The Center can assist you with a dissolution plan and additional resources; however, we do not offer legal assistance with the dissolution of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit nor can we offer assistance completing forms.
