Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associate’s Degree Required/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2 years’ experience in direct caregiving is required
- 2 years of supervisor/manager experience required
- Experience and/or education in mental health, or experience with individuals with challenging behaviors required
- Able to lift 60 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and auto insurance
- Able to pass a criminal background, drug test and physical
Job Details:
Provides short-term intensive behavior intervention and positive focused supports to individuals with behavioral and learning challenges assigned to them by the Behavior Support Specialist Manager. Behavior Support Supervisor is a full time position. Weekly work hours, consist of 24 hours in ratio, plus 16 hours out of ratio performing other duties.
- Consistently implement all aspects of the Individual Plans (ISP/IP/BSP), while functioning as a Behavior Support Supervisor in various sites.
- Maintain up to date information on changes with individual’s health, behavior and needs and/or changes in their BSPs.
- Work in at least 4 behavior prominent locations on a regular basis, including Vocational Day Hab behavior rooms. Assist with training other Behavior Technicians regarding behavior protocols, triggers, warning signs, diagnosis, medications and proper documentation
- Accurately records behavior and program data and any other required agency documentation, including ICM, Helpdesk and BSPs. Complete required quarterly observation for those who have BSPs.
- On a regular routine basis supervise, train and communicate with Behavior Techs to ensure policies, protocols, documentation and BSPs, are being followed. Ensure quality job performance of Behavior Techs.
- Uses active treatment and prescribed protocols to help stabilize individuals with severe challenging behaviors and teach alternative replacement barriers. Coach fellow DSPs and other Sunshine staff on these treatments and protocols as needed.
- Attend IP/OHISP/BSP meeting when available. Attend other appointments with individuals as assigned by the Behavior Support Specialist Manager.
- Attends and participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, required trainings that pertain to the individuals on their caseload as required, and including becoming a Certified Trainer for Ukeru. Train new hires in Intro to Behaviors during their orientation schedule.
- Assist with hiring, training and scheduling of Behavior Support staff or others as assigned.
- Follow the attendance policy at all times.
- Follow all privacy and health and safety protocols put in place by Sunshine.
