Café Hours: Tuesday – Sunday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Closed Monday

Compensation: up to $18.50

Christy’s Corner Café is operated by Engaging Opportunities Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2018 with the intent of providing employment opportunities for individuals with special needs, providing a service to the community, and teaching life long employment skills to enhance quality of life for our individuals.

We are looking for a Café Manager to organize and manage daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service and quality products. To be successful in this role, the Café Manager will have experience in some capacity with individuals with special needs, and experience working in a kitchen environment.  We are looking for an essential team member who ensures our customers are highly satisfied with their visit. Ultimately, the Café Manager will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and enhance the lives of individuals with special needs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing day to day operations of the Café and retail space
  • Provide best practices for maintaining inventory control
  • Onboarding new employees on drink and sandwich preparation and proper use of kitchen and other equipment
  • Preparing work schedules for employees
  • Coordinating with vendors and order supplies as needed
  • Adding new menu items based on seasonality and customers preference (example Vegan Sandwiches)
  • Advising staff on the best ways to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensuring all Café areas are clean, tidy and meet state and local health department requirements
  • Nurturing friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and maintain our reputation
  • Being proficient with Point of Sale (POS) transactions, including opening and closing functions
  • Work with marketing rep. with weekly specials and events etc. via social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Providing quality control of outgoing products and services
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment

Skills:

  • Work experience as a Café Manager (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with professional kitchen and coffee equipment
  • Good math skills
  • Availability to work operating hours (including weekends and holidays)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage, motivate and hold a team accountable for their work product
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school diploma
  • Successfully complete the Food Safety for Manager’s Certificate (2-day course) within 2 weeks of start date or at the training facility
