Job Description

Neighborhood Health Association (NHA), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is the largest community health center system in Northwest Ohio with partnerships that include ProMedica, Mercy Health, and University of Toledo Medical Center. NHA has grown from a single location in 1969 to 12 medical and dental clinics throughout Lucas County. Today we operate multiple health centers including pediatrics, adult medicine, dental services, health care for the homeless, women’s health center, senior centers and a full service pharmacy with lab services on site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacist in filling clinic and other satellite requisitions for drugs and pharmaceutical supplies (e.g. count pills and fill containers; fill containers with creams and ointments) and assist in packaging operations

Maintains related records and files (e.g., running record of drugs issues; patient’s medication profile) and prepares communications and reports (e.g., number of orders filled per day)

Bill all third party transactions to appropriate carrier

Assist pharmacist in stock ordering, receiving all incoming stock and placing on shelves

Keep pharmacy orderly and neat; clean and stock shelves

Operate cash register and computer

Call doctors for refill authorizations

Assist pharmacist in inventory control by preparing supply orders, maintaining inventory records and rotating stock; check for outdated medications; price labeling of medications

Skills/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Pharmacy Technician Certification REQUIRED

Minimum of 6 months pharmacy technician experience is required

Must have excellent computer skills

**Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients, the pharmacy team and staff

Schedule: Variable schedules available including full-time and prn, Monday through Friday no weekends or holidays. Full-time, Part-time and prn schedules available.

Salary: $14.00 per hour
