Child Care Teacher Aide

First United Methodist Child Learning Center is a non-profit, Christian-based preschool and childcare center dedicated to providing the best possible environment for a child’s development. The mission of FUMCLC is to prepare children for lifelong success by providing a high quality, Christian childcare experience in a safe, nurturing environment that is positive for children and families. FUMCLC is a 3 star rated Step Up To Quality program.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist Lead Teacher in recording and maintaining records on each child’s growth, development, and progress for the purpose of planning and compliance with Step Up To Quality standards.
• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program of activities based on principles of child development and in accordance with the Center’s curriculum.
• Observe each child regularly to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth.
• Attend all staff meetings and in-service provided at the center.
• Develop a positive relationship with each child and their families.
• Help maintain the facility in a clean, safe, and satisfactory condition.
• Assist in setting up the classroom environment in a well-organized and attractive manner that is conducive to optimal growth and development of children.
• Use appropriate positive classroom management.
• Must believe in and act in accordance with the program’s mission statement.
• Must be 18 and have a high school diploma. Experience and or education in early childhood education is preferred.

Education: Must have Highschool Diploma

Pay: $10 – $11 per hour (part time and full time hours available)
