Children’s Advocacy Center- Victim Family Advocate/Trauma Therapist

This position will provide trauma therapy, advocacy, and educational services to children and families served by the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). Provides services to child victims and their non-offending caregivers (NOCs) throughout the investigative and prosecutorial process. Serves as the liaison between the family and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), provides support to the child and family as they go through the forensic interview process. Provides education about abuse, trauma, and the legal process, and links families with community resources.

Certifications Required: Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling  / Ohio Licensure- LSW or LPC

LISW or LPCC preferred.

Experience in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy beneficial.

All candidates should possess an understanding of the impact of child abuse and family violence on child victims and caregivers, have strong oral and written communication skills, and have a working understanding of client engagement, client / family assessment and treatment
planning techniques.
