About Sylvania Area Family Services: Sylvania Area Family Services (SAFS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1967 by a coalition of concerned citizens living in the Huntington Farms neighborhood. The group organized the agency to provide support services to strengthen families in the greater Sylvania community. Over the years, some of those services have included a food pantry, rent/utility referral assistance, adult computer education and online services, afterschool programming, summer camp, and a youth diversion program. Once known as the Huntington Community Center, the name was changed several years ago to Sylvania Area Family Services to better reflect its mission.
