Development Coordinator – First Tee Lake Erie

At First Tee – Lake Erie, our mission is to positively impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through golf.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o   Provide comprehensive administrative support and office management to Development staff including, but not limited to: completing purchase requisitions, travel expenses, and other required interdepartmental forms; preparing, editing, and mailing correspondence; and scheduling appointments and meetings.

o   Responsible for the stewardship of donor gifts including timely mail processing; timely data entry of gifts; and mailing of gift acknowledgements.

o   Responsible for the coordination and implementation of annual fundraising events.

o   Assist in the set-up, running, troubleshooting, and break down of events.

o   Research and secure corporate sponsorship gifts for fundraising events, as well as silent/live auction items, gift bag items, in-kind contributions, and other donations related to fundraising events.

o   Prepare and coordinate fundraising event giving technologies to receive contributions from event attendees onsite.

o   Ensure First Tee’s online information, online payment and solicitation technologies, and CRM database are current, correct, accessible, and in working order.

o   Gather, evaluate, and present reporting information from database for the purposes of donor retention, donor communication, and donor demographics for Executive Director.

o   Responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fund development strategy, including the following core initiatives: Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Donor Stewardship, and Planned Gifts.

o   Creates a solid infrastructure to support this strategy, to include a gift processing and acknowledgement system, donor database and software, website enhancements, etc.

o   Responsible and accountable for meeting annual fund development financial target goals, including monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with these goals.

o   Responsible for helping to manage major donors and coordinating visits and meetings between the Executive Director, Board Members, and potential donors.

o   Prepares and presents the development report for board meetings.

o   Responsible for the development and implementation of giving societies, for purposes of increasing perpetual support for the organization’s programs and services.

o   Develops systems to train and encourage board involvement in annual fund solicitation, personal giving, and donor recognition.

o   Consistently seeks to build relationships with board members, staff, and other volunteers, community partners and donors. Communicates and coordinates with these groups to ensure that donors are not being over-solicited, and communications are consistent.

o   Develops and implements major, capital and/or endowment campaigns with approval from the foundation board and CEO.

o   Assist with creation of fundraising-related collateral, website updates and social media content.

o   Coordinate visits and meetings between the Executive Director, Board Members, and potential donors.

o   Comply with fundraising ethics and standards.

o   Pursue professional opportunities to remain up-to-date in the field.

Location

Toledo, OH: position will be hybrid with approximately 3 days in the office per week.

 

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of fundraising, marketing, or communications experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be comfortable asking for money.
  • Must be self-starter/self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of professionalism and sensitivity to confidential information.
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Proficiency with social media and email marketing platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency; knowledge of donor software products, as well as Microsoft Office products.
  • Available for activities before and after normal work hours including weekends, as needed with regular travel necessary.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and commitment to the mission of the organization.
