Development Officer

The Victory Center (TVC) seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate professional to join our team as an integral part of our mission in providing hope and support to cancer patients, survivors and those closest to them as a Development Officer. The Development Officer is a part-time, 24 – 29 hours a week (flexible), salaried employee of TVC. The Development Officer will work hand-in-hand with the Executive Director to enhance and strengthen the financial health of TVC, so that no cancer patient in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan will walk through their journey alone.

The ideal candidate will be eager to grow established donor relationships, with a focus on Major Gifts, and make outreach to new donor prospects. They will be able to effectively and persuasively communicate with donors the health and needs of the organization through a variety of mediums, and assist the Executive Director in producing development and marketing materials. The Victory Center serves a diverse population with unique challenges and needs. The ideal candidate will be motivated to share how the mission is essential to the well-being of these participants and the greater community. They will be a team player who enjoys working with a small staff and volunteers in a warm and welcoming environment.

Oh! Almost forgot. They will not be afraid to rappel down 16 stories of a building at our annual Over the Edge for Victory event. Okay, just kidding. You will not be required to do that. However, you may feel an overwhelming urge to cheer for those cancer survivors and their supporters who do!

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have a college degree in communications, marketing, sales, or related field. Fundraising or sales experience is necessary. Must have the ability to work independently, as well as be a team player who can connect with others.
