Digital Media Storyteller

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for developing marketing and creative materials through digital, video, and print media and leveraging the power of stories to elevate JA 5th Year and the JA Brand. Working with the team to create innovative content that helps drive awareness, curiosity, and engagement from our corporate, education, and community partners.

About 5th Year: 5th Year is a pioneering initiative designed to forge a vibrant talent ecosystem in Northwest Ohio. This experience uniquely blends students’ interests, natural talents, and abilities with deliberate career exploration and discovery. Through JA 5th Year, in collaboration with Lourdes University, participants engage in internships, job shadowing, company site visits, career path planning, personal finance education, and professional and life skills training, all while learning the value of community contribution.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Expertly capture, shoot, edit and publish multimedia (images and video) content.
  • Utilize strong storytelling skills to bring the JA brand to life across a variety of platforms and mediums (e.g website, videos, press releases, podcasts, socials, reels, newsletters)
  • Assist with social and digital media content ideation, creation, posting, community management of social media channels and reporting.
  • Design digital media campaigns aligned with business goals.
  • Maintain a strong online company voice through social media.
  • Manage end-to-end digital projects and maintain a content production calendar, with an organized schedule of cadenced messaging needs.
  • Liaise with Leadership, Events, Development and Program teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Suggest and implement direct marketing methods to increase profitability and awareness.
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media developments.
  • Assist with various PR-related storytelling content needs as required.
  • Work side by side with a professional marketing firm to develop digital content, stories, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Skilled in videography and photography.
  • Proven experience with digital media and graphic design.
  • Must have experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, InDesign/illustrator.
  • Experience with visual communication principles.
  • Familiarity with web design and content management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
