Director, Office for Life and Justice

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Director for our Office for Life and Justice. This individual seeks to build a culture of life in the Diocese of Toledo and beyond, by leading the local Church with vision and passion in communicating the truth of the Gospel about the dignity and value of every human person. Leading pro-life activities for the Diocese of Toledo and overseeing Justice Ministry activities to ensure a consistent and passionate adherence to Catholic Social Teaching from the womb to the tomb are major components of the position.

Duties include: Leads the Diocese of Toledo’s efforts for the March for Life, 40 Days for Life, St. Michael’s Support Group, Side Walk Advocates for Life and other pro-life events; works collaboratively with the Office of Education, Evangelization and Marriage Life Office for the implementation and work of the Culture Project International in the Diocese of Toledo; establishes and maintains community connections in support of ministry objectives; shares timely communication of ministry events, volunteer activities, and client transformation stories; develops ministry materials and offers workshops, training, and resources to parishes and other groups on issues and topics related to promoting the sacredness and dignity of human life at all its stages; works collaboratively with the Bishop, agency Executive Director, Board and other agency personnel involved with social concerns; promotes system change through legislative and other advocacy activities.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Theology, Business, or Social Work, and/or sufficient related work experience required. Master’s degree preferred. Three years of relevant work experience, with supervisory experience desired. Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, life and social justice issues, as well as knowledge of Diocesan and parish structures and functionality. Must maintain a current driver’s license, with the ability to travel within the Diocese of Toledo. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required. Ability to work flexible hours; some evening and weekend hours may be necessary. Must successfully pass background check.
