Front Desk Associate (Evening, Part Time)

The Front Desk Associate is responsible for being present during evening classes to provide support to training staff and participants. They may assist staff with class preparation and clean up. Will be responsible for greeting consumers as they arrive, and check in. Will also provide general customer service support if needed during class time.

Approximate schedule: 8-12 hours per week; 4:30pm – 8:00pm

Main Essential Functions

· Provide evening customer service support as scheduled, including answering phone calls.

· Will assist with prep/set-up for classes, including set up of training rooms with supplies.

· May be asked to engage in a class or activity to assist with an accommodation if appropriate.

· May be asked to assist with one-on-one consumer support if/when needed.

· Will monitor overall safety of consumers in the event staff need to address a behavioral issue.

· Will monitor guests/parents entering the main lobby during class times.

· Share general Ability Center information with visitors, including brochures, flyers, business cards, etc.

· May provide support and assist with other evening activities and events as scheduled.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required. General computer experience preferred. Additional office experience is helpful. Prefer previous experience working with people with disabilities. Must have above average customer service skills with the ability to interact with people of all ages and abilities. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must exhibit good organizational, time management skills, and perform tasks with accuracy. Some administrative skills necessary such as answering phones, general office duties, making copies, organizing materials.

The person in this position will need to remain stationary for periods of time working at a desk; will need to occasionally move about inside the office to access office supplies, file cabinets, office desk, computer, etc. The employee may have to move office items/equipment weighing up to 15 pounds. The person in this position frequently communicates with others; converse, convey, and exchange accurate information.
