Job Title:  Homeowner Services Coordinator

Job Location: 326 Industrial Parkway, Unit 1, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402

Hours per week: 25 hrs/ week

Job Summary:  The Homeowner Services Coordinator will work with Executive Director and the Homeowner Selection and Support Committees in adherence with the Affiliate’s Homeowner Selection and Support programs to recruit, process and select homeowner families and provide support for the Future Homeowners during their time in the program. This position will require organization, attention to detail, critical thinking and a mindset of program development and process analysis to ensure efficient and effective program implementation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment/Selection of Future Habitat Homeowners
  • Plan and execute public events, presentations and outreach in collaboration with the Selection Committee to create awareness to prospective homeowners about the Habitat for Humanity program
  • Manage homeowner selection process
  • Review pre-applications and send appropriate acknowledgements and follow up communications
  • Request and analyze applicant credit reports
  • Manage application orientations
  • Track and screen applications before submitting to Homeowner Selection Committee for review
  • Process all applications in accordance with Equal Housing Opportunity laws.
  • Update and notify families of their selection status in timely manner
  • Train and/or accompany Homeowner Selection Committee members on home visits
  • Prepare homeowner selection recommendation for Board of Trustees meeting
  • Notify applicants of approval or denial
  • Schedule and conduct initial meeting with prospective homeowner upon approval
  1. Homeowner Support and Education Program Implementation
  • Provide staff support to Homeowner Selection and Support Committees
  • Recruit, orient and train Homeowner Support Partners
  • Keep future homeowners abreast of upcoming classes, events, and sweat equity opportunities
  • Track sweat equity and maintain contact with homeowner to ensure requirements are complete
  • Maintain communication with Support Partners and help resolve and concerns/issues experienced by Future Homeowners
  • Monitor progress of Future Homeowners until construction is completed and closing is scheduled
  • Maintain contact with community agencies offering services beneficial to Habitat future homeowners and help families connect to resources
  • Help Future Homeowners prepare for events such as groundbreakings and dedications
  • Assist Future Homeowners in preparing for closings
  • Review surveys and program evaluations to adjust and improve programs and processes
  • Coordinate with Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the proper recruitment of volunteers for the Homeowner Selection and Support Committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  1. Home Repair Program
  • Review Home Repair Program policy and oversee program implementation
  • Track and process applications for Home Repair Program
  • Work with Repair Committee to review applications and scope of work
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator and Project Personnel to schedule and implement repairs.
  • Follow up with selected families after work has been completed and review experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

 Minimum Associates Degree

  • Experience working in a non-profit organization (preferred)
  • Commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s mission
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with volunteer committees
  • Ability to work in environment with a mix of pace
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to analyze and exercise sound judgment

Other requirement to do this job:

  • Monthly committee meetings in the evening (2x/month)
  • Schedule meetings and presentations outside of typical working hours, eg. Evenings, some Saturdays. Work hours can be flexed.

Work Environment and Conditions:

  • Much of work is performed at a desk, at a computer
  • Some travel required to applicant homes, presentations or build sites (mileage reimbursed)
