Sunshine Communities, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Northwest Ohio supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through residential, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, and recreational services. These services are offered in various circumstances including at our Maumee, Ohio campus and at homes within the community. In addition to programs on campus, Sunshine individuals and staff operate Georgette’s Grounds and Gifts, a coffee shop and fair trade gift store located in downtown Maumee. Right across the road lies Sunshine Studios, an art studio space and gift store offering classes to individuals and the community.


  • High School Diploma or GED / 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and Auto Insurance
  • Pass criminal background, drug screen, physical & able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Associates degree from 2-year college or technical school or higher
  • 1-3 years related experience or training
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.

Job Details

Responsible for troubleshooting computer systems; installing software packages and system upgrades; and providing in-house training to department personnel on systems and software use and performing related work as required. Completes the majority of help desk support, configuration of personal computers and servers, and operating systems and peripherals.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provides on-site maintenance, troubleshoots and corrects problems related to hardware and software, networking and communication equipment, servers, desktop computers, laptop computers and peripheral devices.
  • Provides help desk direction and support. Completes and coordinates responses.
  • Takes initiative in establishing and achieving standards for equipment and customer service levels.
  • Participates in computer hardware and software upgrades.
  • Maintains the documentation of user, hardware and software inventories and documents procedures utilized to correct problems.
  • Researches current technologies to make knowledgeable suggestions.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of systems through upgrades, implementing new standards and procedures, tool development, virus and patch resolution.
  • Communicates and coordinates regularly with others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
  • Performs project assignments, as required and performs other related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
