Position Title:  Operations Manager

Position Summary:  

The family House Program Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations. The position directly supervises the receptionist, house monitors and food services.  This individual must be able to work independently; prioritizing tasks, as well as, collaborate with managers and staff within and with other departments.  This position requires and emphasis on employee relations skills as well as facility awareness.  Additionally, this position is responsible for management of client supplies and serves as a liaison between house monitors, receptionist and clients as well as kitchen staff, other employees and clients. Works in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) to ensure cleanliness and safety of the property.

 

The Family House Operations Manager must have a passion for the mission and ensuring services are structured and operated in a way that incorporates Family House values and mission.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and ensure implementation of practices and procedures that support the vision for the operations of Family House.
  2. Ensure Family House vision and mission is modeled and communicated to guests and staff.
  3. Must have experience managing budgets to assigned departments.
  4. Oversee the handling of department funds and establish accountability by ensuring all funds are properly accounted for.
  5. Coordinate and supervise the Family House kitchen ensuring the ordering of supplies and food.
  6. Supervises assigned personnel, proving feedback on job duties, training, instruction and evaluation.
  7. Provides informal and formal discipline to staff under their supervision, with consult from the ED.
  8. Proactively engages with staff to provide a good working relationship and culture.
  9. Works to provide a good working relationship/culture with assigned team
  10. Serves as a main point of contact to intervene in crisis situation and diffuse inappropriate client behavior, as needed
  11. Schedules house monitors (front desk) and works to ensure shifts are covered appropriately while monitoring staff PTO and overtime
  12. Monitors documentation and completion of shift duties and shift notes.
  13. Ensures any and all “incidents” that are reported are properly documented in shift notes and if appropriate escalate to an incident report.
  14. Collaborates with the Program Director to provide up to date census for rooms.
  15. Interviews candidates in department and makes recommendations to ED
  16. Respond to emergency calls from staff and providing direction and debriefing, as needed.
  17. Attend and participate in staff meetings
  18. Participates in staff development programs, as appropriate
  19. Mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect/ assisting with calling LCCS, as needed
  20. Collaborates with Facility Director to ensure cleanliness and safety of property.
  21. Oversight of specific budget and line items including purchasing and safekeeping of organization property and finances.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Human Services or a comparable degree.
  • At least one year supervisory experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Lucas county health department regulations
  • Strong conflict resolution and crises intervention skills
  • Ability to collaborate with the Associate Director in the purchasing, budgeting and oversight of organization property and finances
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and computer software skills
  • Ability to be trusted to have in his/her possession and use Family House property (credit cards, cash, etc.…)

 

Additional Skills Preferred:

 

  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of homeless services

 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance.
