This is a rewarding full-time position available with Sylvania Community Services Center (SCS). Sylvania Senior Center is a program of Sylvania Community Services Center. The Program Director serves as the lead program administrator, working collaboratively to develop and implement high-quality programs and services that meet the broad range of needs and interests of Sylvania’s adult population 55 years and older.

Job Description Summary: This position reports to the Executive Director of Sylvania Community Services and is responsible for administrative tasks of the Senior Center, including but not limited to program oversight, supervision of staff and managing the program budget. The Program Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services offered through the Senior Center. He/She will ensure the delivery of high quality and cost-effective programs and services that address the broad range of needs and interests of older adults in the community. He/She will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Preschool Administrator to design and implement intergenerational programing. He/She will be responsible for developing and managing the program budget and monitoring program costs related to the implementation of Senior Center programs and services.
The Program Director establishes partnerships that advance the mission of the Sylvania Community Services through programs and services offered at the Senior Center; serves as the public face of the program and promotes positive community relationships. He/She will serve as the staff liaison for the Senior Center Participant Council; attends Participant Council meetings; responds to concerns and inquires as well as solicits participant feedback into the program planning of Center programs and services.
The Program Director is responsible for the development and implementation of on-going quantitative and qualitative evaluation tools to ensure the Senior Center’s ability to deliver high quality programming; establishes a systemic approach for collecting evaluation data, delivering monthly, quarterly and annual reports of outcomes to stakeholders. He/She demonstrates program improvements based upon the use of evaluation feedback and evidence-based research; continually assesses the needs and interests of the older community to inform program design and development.
The Program Director will ensure the Senior Center complies with funder regulations and timely submission of funder reports; stays abreast of priorities of various funding sources that support services to older adults; researches and applies for grants and other funding sources that support senior center programming. He/She stays abreast of current and changing legislation, polices and trends that impact the gaining community and service providers.
The Program director is responsible for developing and implementing a marketing plan for programs and services; actively seeks out opportunities to promote the Senior Center programs and services; engages and networks in community groups that serve older adults as a venue in which to educate the community on services provided by the Senior Center. As part of the leadership team, he/she works collaboratively with the Executive Director to ensure alignment of programs and services to the strategic direction of the agency.
Hours: 37.5 hours/week. General hours are Mon – Fri: 8: 00 AM to 4:30 P.M. with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Pay Rate: Negotiable. Position pay rate is commensurate with experience and additional certifications that may be held.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with older adults (age 55+) and minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Experience in program development, implementation and evaluation. Experience developing and managing program budgets. Valid drivers’ license and auto insurance.
