Social Media Specialist – part time

The National Exchange Club, headquartered in Toledo, OH, is seeking a social media specialist who will be responsible for creating and publishing content on all social media platforms – including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. Objectives are to grow all audiences, build brand awareness, boost partnerships and memberships, drive website traffic, and achieve superior customer engagement.

Qualified candidates will have a solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels.

Responsibilities Include:

Duties include creating and updating social media posting schedules, replying to comments from subscribers and liking tagged photos, and coordinating with other professionals to determine how to market the brand/products/services using social media. The specialist will assist in the creation/management of social media sites for optimization of performance markers; regular reports on performance will be required.

The social media specialist may also work with other staff members, to further promote the brand. The specialist will be responsible for tracking whether social marketing efforts have been successful through goal setting with markers for identifying success through various online analytical tools. Other job duties include:

  • Ability to develop and implement an inclusive social media strategy that aligns with other messaging;
  • Ability to monitor online activity across geographical areas to ensure anyone using The National Exchange Club’s online tools is following established guidelines and best-practices;
  • Encouraging greater social media participation;
  • Development of editorial calendars;
  • Capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information;
  • Following online conversations and monitoring trending hashtags and topics, while finding unique ways to integrate them into Exchange’s brand.
  • Identifying opportunities to influence public perception through audience engagement and publicly speaking about the brand’s social media strategy.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstratable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO, and SEO.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Positive attitude, detailed, customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • BS in communications, marketing, business, new media, or public relations.
