Vice President of Innovations, Programs and Services

POSITION SUMMARY

The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Greater Toledo (“JFGT”) seeks an engaging, dynamic,
and motivated professional to join our team as Vice President of Innovations, Programs and
Services (“VPIPS”). The position is a full-time, exempt employee of JFGT. The VPIPS working
closely with the JFGT Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for ensuring that JFGT’s
programs and services across the organization are innovative, responsive to community needs
and desires, engaging and coordinated across the organization. The VPIPS will also be
responsible for coordinating and interfacing with the Gan Yeladim preschool principal, the Hillel
Director and the Community Programming Director. In addition, with the JFGT CEO’s support,
the VPIPS will develop and execute community leadership programs for rising college freshman
and sophomores and younger leaders age 25-45.

BACKGROUND

JFGT is the central address for Jewish philanthropy, community programing and services for the
Jewish community of northwest Ohio and part of southeast Michigan. JFGT includes a
successful endowment program through the Toledo Jewish Community Foundation, (TJCF), with
over $50 million dollars invested, a seven-figure annual campaign, a Jewish Senior, Family
and Social Services division including a food pantry, a professionally staffed Jewish
Community Relations Council, a preschool in its own building, PJ Library program, an active
Next Jewish Generation program, Hillel programs at two regional universities, exceptional
programs for community members age 60 and better and a Toledo Jewish Community
Cemetery Association that operates and maintains two cemeteries.

The Toledo Jewish community is small but continues to support three synagogues as well as
Chabad. Toledo boasts the University of Toledo, the Toledo Mudhens, the
nationally recognized Toledo Zoo and the Toledo Museum of Art. Toledo is at the
cross-roads of America with easy north/south highway access on I-75 and east/west highway
access on I-80. It is within 50 minutes driving to Ann Arbor, 55 minutes to Detroit, 2.5 hours to
Cleveland, and 4 hours to Chicago.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit programming.

• Technical proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and donor database software.

• Effective at forging strong interpersonal alliances at all levels both within and outside the
organization.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge and understanding of Jewish customs, traditions, the Jewish community, and
the Federation field.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

•Ensure that all programs and services provided to the community align with the current needs of the community and JFGT’s mission and strategic plan.

•Lead, manage, motivate, inspire and coordinate with staff and volunteers to create an atmosphere where all JFGT divisions that provide programs and services work together efficiently and meaningfully.

•Actively participate and support staff and volunteers in the development, design, and implementation of programs and services.

•Implement methods and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services and use that information to drive increased engagement and fulfilling experiences.

•Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the Jewish community, including all Jewish congregations and organizations, and work to coordinate efforts to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of community Jewish programming.

•Communicate effectively so that all stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, community members, and congregations are “in the loop” as to programs and services being offered.

•Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by being an active leader in the annual budgeting process and focusing on the most efficient use of community resources.

•Coordinate and interface directly with the principal of the Gan Yeladim preschool, the Hillel Director and the Community Program Director and assist them with their programming and professional success.

•Develop, supervise and execute a summer leadership development program for rising freshman and sophomores in college and an annual leadership development program for young community lay leaders ages 25-45.

•Participate in professional development opportunities, identify, propose and advocate for innovative programs that increase engagement and fulfill JFGT’s mission.

•Other duties as assigned.

Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000
