Communication Specialist

As a Communication Specialist the position requires a dynamic and ministry-minded individual who is responsible for execution and follow through of message strategy. The goal is to assist the team and the supervisor to achieve superior community engagement and intimacy, communication traffic and revenue by strategically utilizing all aspects of communications and donor development.

The specialist will assist in executing the strategy to optimize content to ensure it is engaging on those channels. The employee is responsible for joining relevant conversations on behalf of the ministry and engagement of the current and prospective partners.

Essential Functions:
• Models life transformation for all who come to CSMM by attending church regularly, maintaining an active worship and prayer life, studying God’s word, and leading with Christ-like behavior at all times.
• Supports organization by relentlessly upholding the mission, vision, core values and reputation of CSMM in behavior, conduct and speech.
• Seek out and develop shareable content to best showcase work done by the ministry.
• Cultivate, write and edit content for newsletter, website and employee newsletter for written and video forms.
• Manage customer relations data software, round up platform and text to give platform. Create and manage campaigns within to generate income, foster more effect work and resource efficacy.
• Research, write and submit grant applications as assigned.
• Build and execute communication strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
• Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
• Provide appropriate graphic design in a timely manner
• Manage website, keep content fresh and edit SEO
• Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of ministry’s social content
• Monitor social media activity and respond as needed
• Interact and encourage media engagement through phone calls, press releases and communication blasts via all channels and platforms
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
• Collaborate with other departments (customer relations, sales etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
• Provide office administrative tasks

Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Proficient in computer knowledge i.e. Microsoft Suite
• Must be able to work independently
• Data Entry
• Email usage
• Phone System usage
• BA in English, Marketing, Communications or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
• Skilled in managing, organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Must be a team player with a strong customer service focus
• Must possess a proactive problem solving approach
• Highly organized
• Self-motivated
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned
• Proven working experience in social media, marketing or as a digital media specialist
• Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
• Demonstrable social networking experience and analytics tools knowledge
• Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, Conversation Rate Optimization (CRO) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
• Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
• Take the individual initiative in planning and performing for weeks at a time
• Initiate and execute tactical development of campaigns and communication strategies
