Job Description Summary: The Preschool Assistant Lead Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in carrying out lessons plans in a way that meets the unique needs of each child. Responsible for assisting in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn, while partnering with the Lead Teacher to achieve goals around student learning, enrollment, licensure and parent engagement. Position requires ability to communicate appropriately with preschool children at individual levels off ability, provide care of children without prompting, follow learning strategies as recommended by lead teacher. Ability to supervise children while they work, answer questions, explain directions and give appropriate assistance while maintaining awareness of classroom. Assists during lunch breaks and carries out other tasks as assigned.
Hours:
The Preschool at Northview High School*: Mon – Thurs 11am – 4pm / Fri 11:30 am- 1pm
*This position offers opportunity for up to 40 hours per week in the summer months.
Woodrow Preschool at Memorial Park: Mon – Fri 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Pay Rate: $12.00 – $15.00 per hour depending on experience and education with raise after completion of 90 day probationary period.
Benefits: FREE Child Care for age 3+ at Sylvania Child Care sites. In service training hours are provided.
Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, have High School diploma or GED, and be able to pass a background check. All applications are welcome, and mature workers are encouraged to apply. Requires completion of mandatory training consistent with child care licensure.
