Community Engagement Coordinator

Bethany House provides long-term safe transitional shelter and advocacy to survivors of domestic violence and their children. We are seeking a team member who is passionate about our mission.

The Community Engagement Coordinator position is part-time and offers flexible and hybrid hours:

  1. Serves as the Silent Witness Project (SWP) Coordinator responsible for all activities related to the project;
  2. Assist and provide leadership in agency communication strategies including social media, marketing, newsletters, and supporter acknowledgments;
  3. Coordinate and facilitate events on behalf of Bethany House including: outreach, education, resource fairs, speaking engagements, and community engagement opportunities.

Requires:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, social services, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, Salesforce, and data entry into various software programs
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of domestic violence survivors and their children and commitment to a Trauma Informed Practice model;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team with demonstrated maturity and professional judgment;
  • A highly motivated self-starter and ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks at once
  • Knowledge of maintaining and executing confidential information
  • Flexible, adaptable and have the capability to work in a facility based shelter environment
