Assistive Tech/Medical Equipment Coordinator

Position Summary: The Assistive Tech/Medical Equipment (AT/ME) Coordinator is responsible for responding to requests for durable medical equipment and assistive technology. They will provide assistance, resources, and information to consumers and providers requesting and donating equipment. The coordinator will be responsible for greeting those picking up and donating equipment. This position requires a high-level of customer service to consumers, donors, and partners.

Main Essential Functions:

· Greet visitors entering the Community Living Resource Center and ensure a tidy entrance space.

· Provide consumer with appropriate paperwork, gather signatures, and close out goals in database system.

· This position is responsible for scanning and filing paperwork and electronically updating inventory.

· May be responsible for showing consumer how to use Assistive Tech/Medical Equipment on site.

· May be asked to load and unload equipment from consumer vehicles.

· Will enter donated and returned medical equipment into the database system to ensure inventory is accurate.

· Respond to requests for use of assistive technology devices and medical equipment via phone, e-mail, or in person.

· Will work one on one with consumers to complete an intake, over the phone and in-person.

· Will prepare equipment loan/gift agreements.

· Will continue to foster and grow relationships with healthcare providers and partners.

· May send out letters for equipment returns as requested by Manager.

· Provide information to consumers requesting additional services and make appropriate referrals to other programs.

· May be asked to back up other positions in the Assistive Tech/Medical Equipment program.

· Required to attend group staff meetings to discuss services, update processes, and share resource lists.

· Will be a backup for cleaning, and disinfecting equipment as needed.

· Maintain thorough understanding of service needs of persons with disabilities and programs available in the community.

· Maintain effective and positive working relationships with all ACT staff as well as other agencies/service providers.

· May be required to attend Ability Center trainings, events, outside community events, and seminars.

· Document all consumer contact information in consumer database according to required guidelines.

Qualifications: Experience working with Assistive Tech and Medical Equipment preferred. Prefer candidates have customer service experience. Previous experience working with people with disabilities. Prefer candidates have an associate degree in the social service industry. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong interviewing and assessment skills. Strong skills in organizing work, attention to detail and maintaining confidential records. Must enjoy spending time communicating with consumers to develop trust needed to gather information and recommend additional ACT services. Must be able to document consumer/program results. Will be using Microsoft Office software, and database systems.

Physical Demands: The employee in this position will need to remain standing for long periods of time while working in a work zone, or off-site environment. They will need to lift to 25 lbs. while performing job duties and may lift more with two or more individuals assisting. This position frequently communicates with others and may do so in various ways as able. They may converse, convey, and exchange accurate information via phone, text, written, e-mail, or face to face. The employee may frequently move from one office space to another, meeting spaces, and occasionally from one building to another. The employee may operate a personal and/or company owned vehicle. The employee will operate/use a phone, computer, copier, and printer.
