Certified Nurse Practitioner – After Hours Clinic

The Medical Provider of our After Hours Clinic is an essential member of a high performing healthcare team responsible for the oversight and administration of the After Hours Clinic, providing compassionate and high-quality health care to patients in our community on a same day appointment and walk-in basis.  The Medical Provider will work in partnership with our homelessness, public health, HIV and social justice partners to promote access to care delivery and screenings.

Services at our After-Hours Clinic provided by the Medical Provider include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients of all ages with presenting illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease
  • Orders evidence-based testing, prescribes medications and refers to NHA Provider for ongoing follow-up care as required
  • Provide a wide range of pediatric & adult immunizations including COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots, pneumococcal and monkey pox
  • STD testing, treatment and education
  • Point of Care (POC) testing and education for a variety of healthcare conditions such as HIV, Hepatitis, and A1C.
  • Provides occupational medicine services, including Department of Transportation (DOT) exams and sports physicals
  • Educates patients on diseases, epidemics, and prevention
  • Actively engage in the community with other key stakeholders and safety net providers to grow workplace relationships in order to enhance the availability and accessibility of our services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Physician, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN-CNP), or Physician Assistant – Certified (PA-C).
  • Active Ohio license with Family Practice specialty.
  • Preferred two (2) years experience in direct patient care, preferably in a community healthcare setting, FQHC experience ideal.
  • Must have injection/vaccination experience.
  • Experience and high proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Must be able to work independently, take initiative and think creatively to address social disparities of health and refer to appropriate resources to meet patient needs.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a desire to provide excellent customer service to patients, demonstrating caring and empathy.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and composure when challenged, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Part-time and Full-Time positions available, working eight (8) hour shifts, primarily during evening and weekend hours.  Candidates must have the ability to commit to a set schedule.
