Chief Financial Officer

Neighborhood Health Association primary responsibility for all aspects of the fiscal and financial management of the organization, providing strategic direction to a cross-functional team.  Reporting to the CEO, works closely with senior level leadership, board members, and key stakeholders including grant funders outside the organization.

Leadership Competencies

  • Coaches and facilitates the growth and development of the associates within the departments.
  • Develops departmental goals that support NHA initiatives to guide daily activity, communicate ongoing processes and works with team members to remove obstacles to performance effectiveness.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

Business/Administrative Responsibilities

  • Directs and is responsible, through subordinate personnel, all audit, financial reporting, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Prepare, direct, and monitor annual divisional and departmental budgets.
  • Generates monthly financial statements and presents to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Direct the development of programs within the division which will enhance collection of receivables and promote positive public relations as it relates to Neighborhood Health Association patients and patients.
  • Develops, directs, and responsible for quantitative quality standard objectives for areas reporting under financial services.

Job Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration, accounting, or finance, with master’s degree desired. Must have a minimum of five years of demonstrated leadership experience as a CFO, with experience in a not-for-profit organization as CFO, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting.  Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience highly preferred.
