TITLE – COMPUTER LAB COORDINATOR

SALARY – $14.00 – $20.00/HR.

40 HOURS PER WEEK WITH MEDICAL, DENTAL, LIFE, SHORT TERM DISABILITY, EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, RETIREMENT (403B) AND PAID TIME OFF

If you are passionate about mental health and have a desire to provide support and creative programming for individuals (referred to as members) living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders in a unique, non-clinical setting where characteristics of patience, tolerance, and respect for all individuals while maintaining a positive environment is valued over technical skills, please apply for this Computer Lab Coordinator position at the Thomas M. Wernert Center.

Note: Thomas M. Wernert Center is open for programming by appointment only Monday – Friday, 9am-4pm. Practices are in place according to Responsible Restart Ohio to address the COVID – 19 Pandemic. The Computer Lab is currently permitting five members at one time in the Lab for 1 – 1.5 hours of usage; there are 15 workstations, however. The Coordinator stays in the Lab while any members are utilizing it. Isolation barriers are in place and social distancing between workstations and masks are required and hand sanitizer and gloves are easily accessible.

Job Duties:

• Manage the Computer Lab
• Provide one on one and group computer instruction
 Provide instruction at member’s level, always being mindful of member’s abilities and interests; goal is engagement
• Programming includes:
 Basic introduction to computer, keyboard/typing instruction, terminology, navigating the computer/browser/mouse
 Internet searches
 Wacom Intuos Pen and Tablet
 Resume writing
 Lumosity
 Kahn Academy
 Open Computer Lab hours
 Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
• Monitor appropriate music and Internet searches and upholding Guidelines and Policies
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations and lab
 Following each use, Coordinator will disinfect chair, keyboard, mouse and monitor
• Basic troubleshooting of equipment prior to reporting malfunction to appropriate personnel
• Oversee the scheduling of all programs in the Computer Lab (currently by appointment only)
• Operate all Computer Lab equipment in a safe manner

• Maintain records of activities undertaken in the Computer Lab, which includes:
 Tracking the names and numbers of members utilizing the lab and the class they are attending
• Create and monitor Annual Computer Lab budget

Experience, Educational Qualifications and Abilities

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• An Associate Degree in a related field preferred
• Computer Lab experience preferred: teaching experience in any discipline will be accepted in lieu of Computer Lab experience with a solid knowledge of computers through personal or work experience
• Knowledge of Computer Lab operation including troubleshooting and technical support
• Ability to communicate computer instructions to new, and intermediate-level users
• Working with adults living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders, developmental disabilities or related fields in social service preferred
• Personal or lived experience with mental illness preferred
• Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Needs minimal or no oversight to complete duties
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of members, employees, and volunteers in a team environment and possess characteristics such as patience and tolerance, while demonstrating behaviors that reflect respect for all persons
