COURT LIAISON JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:

Court Liaison

ACCOUNTABILITY:

This position reports to the Forensic Director and will be an integral part of the evaluation team.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for facilitating communication between CDTC and the Lucas County Criminal Justice System in regards to the receiving of referrals for forensic evaluations, scheduling dates, challenges and completed reports. This position also supports the program goals outlined by the Forensic Director and is driven by the mission and priorities of the CDTC as a licensed Forensic Center of Ohio.

 

MAIN DUTIES:

  1. Act as a liaison between CDTC and the Lucas County Criminal Justice System (Court System) to assist in maintaining a positive working relationship
  2. Communicate with various court personnel and act as the point of contact for the Court System on behalf of CDTC
  3. Identify communication issues between Court System and CDTC
  4. Keep a contacts list with relevant people from Court System
  5. Foster positive relationships with all court and CDTC staff
  6. Participate as a team member in team meetings with court personnel, as appropriate and CDTC.
  7. Stay organized at all times, providing updates to the courts on scheduling and report status’ and documentation needed for evaluations.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  1. Outstanding customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  2. Coordinate with proper personnel to provide accurate answers to Court System for concerns or questions
  3. Bachelor degree is highly desirable.
  4. Must be able to handle outgoing and incoming calls to provide positive relations and to ensure satisfaction
  5. Self-motivated and detailed-oriented
  6. Exceptional organization to know the status of evaluations at all times and to ensure information is accurate
  7. Confidence in interacting with criminal justice personnel
  8. Maintain excellent conflict resolution skills to handle problems as they occur and also to prevent from happening
  9. Ability to maintain composure in highly stressful situations
  10. Extensive knowledge of modern office methods including relevant computer software and hardware.  Accurate and proficient keyboard skills
  11. Excellent understanding of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
  12. Assist in team problem solving between courts and evaluation department
  13. Maintain performance standards and provide appropriate feedback to leadership
  14. Maintain confidentiality at all times

 

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years experience working in criminal justice, with the courts or in another high-stress, customer service environment.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

INTERACTION:

Work closely with the Forensic Director and others within the evaluation team.  Work closely with agents of the court and transfer information timely, professionally and correctly.  May encounter defendants, in custody.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Every non-licensed employee whether full-time, part-time, volunteer, or consultant will be subject to a criminal background check and reference check.

SALARY and HOURS:
