Finance Director – JOB DESCRIPTION

Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center (CDTC) is a private, non-profit organization committed to helping make safer communities. The Ohio Department of Mental Health has certified CDTC as the Forensic Center of Northwest Ohio as well as a certified Mental Health Agency in Lucas County. We employ licensed Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Clinical Counselors. Our staff provides expert evaluations, testimony, treatment and consultations specializing in the mentally ill offender and regularly offer training to the professional community.

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Finance Director with strong numerical skills to drive our organization’s financial operations and improve financial performance. Duties for the Finance Director will include: overseeing internal controls, setting financial targets, engaging with grant/contract funders and others in our community, developing a financial strategy, monitoring expenditure, overseeing annual insurance, monitoring cash flow and managing tax compliance. Your skills in sound financial planning coupled with your ability to direct financial assets will assist our organization in implementing effective financial strategies, managing debt, improving revenue, maintaining a healthy financial position, and enhancing community confidence. S/he will manage budget oversight and actual expenses for the operating fund and grant programs. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is an integral part of the leadership team.
Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting staff on accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and rules for non-profits
  • Direct annual audit and 990 processes, serving as the principal liaison to the external auditor
  • Supervise grants administration, accounting and budgeting
  • Provide advice and counsel regarding financial issues and controls to the Executive Director
  • Oversees organization general ledger and budget management functions, including preparation of the annual budget
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for review, (including explanations for variance analysis) and prepares cash flow analysis
  • Provides financial reports and analysis to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Maintains compliance with accounting standards, government regulations, and tax laws
  • Develops procedures and systems for use in ensuring financial control and availability of data for analysis
  • Bill each contract/grant appropriately for services provided
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director or Board of Directors

Education/Experience

  • Accounting degree from an accredited university, required
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks accounting system, required
  • Nonprofit experience, desired
  • Medicaid billing experience, a plus
  • CPA, a plus
  • Computer literate and ability to learn agency software and databases used

Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to sit and type at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day with appropriate breaks and perform tasks that require fine dexterity and repetitive motions using the arms, hands, wrists and fingers. Salary to commiserate with education and experience.  Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00pm.  Days/hours are flexible.  Generous paid time off offered, to include all Federal holidays.  Health insurance, short term disability, life and matching 403b plan, available.
