Food Pantry and Social Service Aid
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB. Greet visitors and direct them to the proper destination. Stock, organize, clean, and keep inventory for the food pantry. Provide direction and support to the beneficiaries receiving services through our community food pantry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Keep food pantry shelves stocked.
- Manage inventory of items needed and communicate to the Social Service Caseworker.
- Assist with keeping the food pantry and waiting room area clean.
- Assist beneficiaries with the food pantry process and direct them to appropriate staff for other needs.
- Keep the food pantry organized and neat.
- Coordinate all aspects of the food pantry in accordance with established policies and Director’s approval.
- Assist training volunteers, community and WEP workers on the food pantry process.
- Participate in and support all special and seasonal events.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with The Salvation Army policies and procedure.
- Assist with answering all incoming telephone lines and assisting beneficiaries with intake paperwork as needed.
- Keep Diaper Bank room clean, neat, and organized.
- Assist with filling, organizing and charting Diaper Bank orders.
- Keep inventory of diapers needed and communicate to the Social Service Caseworker
- Complete any other related duties as specified by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS.
High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent time management skills
Demonstrate ability to organize and communicate.
Computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Ability to work accurately with attention to detail and with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently.
Must work well in a team atmosphere.
