Grant Writer
Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE), a non-profit law firm that provides free, high-quality civil legal assistance to people living in poverty, seeks a Grant Writer. This position can be based out of ABLE’s Toledo or Dayton office.
The Grant Writer contributes to the overall financial stability of ABLE and its sister firm Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO) by assisting with the development of new funding sources and ensuring that current grants and contracts are fully implemented. The Grant Writer works closely with the Manager of Grants and Contracts and other staff as needed. The Grant Writer must be able to work well with staff and funders to accomplish the firms’ goals and objectives.
Under the general direction of the Manager of Grants and Contracts, this position will provide support for finding funding opportunities, writing polished proposals to ensure successful grant applications, researching and writing grant applications, and submitting reports regarding the activities of ABLE and LAWO.
The Grant Writer regularly performs grant tasks that are varied and complex. This position will apply skills and knowledge of the grant management process to complete substantive tasks of moderate scope and complexity under general supervision.
Three years minimum grant writing experience, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, grant writing credential or certification preferred.
Competitive salary based on relevant experience ($52,000-$69,300); comprehensive fringe benefits.
