About Sunshine:

Sunshine Communities, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Northwest Ohio supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through residential, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, and recreational services. These services are offered in various circumstances including at our Maumee, Ohio campus and at homes within the community. In addition to programs on campus, Sunshine individuals and staff operate in downtown Maumee, Georgette’s Grounds and Gifts, a coffee shop and Sunshine Studios, an art studio space with a fair trade gift store offering classes to individuals and the community.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Public Relations preferred
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe creative Suite, and Canva.
  • Knowledge of APA writing methods and ADA-accessible design standards
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and Auto Insurance
  • Pass criminal background, drug screen, physical & able to lift 60 lbs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates graphics, videos, and photos used in written publications, posters, handouts, flyers, postcards, websites, and social media.
  • Develops and maintains a marketing and communications plan that adheres to brand standards, brand pillars, and key messaging for audiences such as staff, families, volunteers, event participants, media, retail consumers, the general public, current donors, and future donors.
  • Maintains the e-commerce platform for Georgette’s Grounds and Gifts, Georgette’s Coffee, and Sunshine Studios
  • Produces communications in multiple formats such as annual donor materials, internal employee communications, family communications, electronic newsletters, mailers, letterhead, thank you’s, and promotional items.
  • Embraces being a storyteller for a developmental disability provider.
  • Works closely with Human Resources department on job postings and job recruitment materials.
  • Ensures that all Sunshine-related websites and social media are regularly monitored and relevant with content that attracts users. Works closely with departmental staff to ensure appropriate up-to-date information is posted. Generate quarterly metrics using Google Analytics or Meta reporting tools.
  • Maintains database of public relations contacts.
  • Organizes and maintains digital assets, historical files, and photography.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
