Marketing Manager

Job Position: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Director of External Engagement
Hours: Full Time, Hourly ($37,440 – $47,840)

Primary Function:
The mission of Sauder Village is to “foster a unique environment that explores the past, engages the senses and inspires wonder.” The Marketing Manager will help fulfill that mission by overseeing the development of dynamic content that engages a variety of targeted audiences while expanding the Sauder Village brand nationwide. The Marketing Manager does not work in isolation but is rather the point person for a complex wide collaborative effort.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities) include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Generate or oversee generation of written content for external publication including press releases, radio and television ad scripts, website text and magazine articles.
2. Develop and produce content for social media across multiple applications and platforms.
3. Take photographs for marketing and social media.
4. Serve as liaison for all outside media requests and develop relationships with regional media representatives.
5. Work with Design Manager and Director of External Engagement on design of eblasts, printed materials, website updates, and signage.
6. Work to integrate our core values of Respect, Enrichment, Unity and Play into all marketing efforts.
7. Help meet goals in current strategic plan with a global complex wide mindset.
8. Work with Director of External Engagement to create annual marketing budget and then manage that budget throughout the year.
9. Work with External Engagement team to develop annual marketing strategies and campaigns.
10. Collaborate with all departments to identify key stories and marketing opportunities that will resonate most with potential guests.
11. Work with External Engagement team and others throughout the complex to identify audiences that we serve and tailor marketing strategies to each group.
12. Own and manage workload with projects at a variety of stages and adjust quickly as priorities change.
13. Seek out and participate in professional development to improve skills and stay abreast of current marketing trends.
14. Develop familiarity with all applications and systems used in the department.
15. Develop relationships with all departments and help identify potential spokespeople who can speak on the village’s behalf on relevant topics.
16. Edit and proofread content generated from other areas with an eye for accuracy, consistent messaging and branding, clarity and appropriate grammar usage and spelling.
17. Develop and implement methods to track effectiveness of integrated marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to increase awareness of Sauder Village.
18. Work with outside marketing consultants as needed particularly with advertising placement and purchases.

Skills, Requirements & Conditions.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or public relations, or a similar field preferred.
• 2 years’ experience or equivalent in marketing or public relations.
• Confident user and content creator on a variety of social media platforms.
• Skilled photographer and or videographer a plus
• Relationship-driven, able to work positively with many kinds of stakeholders & audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational & time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
• Experience with MS Office Suite software – especially Word, Excel, Access. Other software skills a plus, including Altru.
• Ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Available to work some nights and weekends.
