Position Title: Program Director

Employment Status: Full Time/Salaried                               FLSA Status:  Exempt

Position Summary:

The Family House Program Director performs administrative, daily operational and management functions that include oversight of all case managers, case planning, program development, implementation and management. Additional responsibilities include management and oversight of community housing list and clinical programming. Works in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) to ensure programming and case management is based on sound evidence based practices.

 

The Family House Program Director must have a passion for the mission and ensuring programs are structured and operated in a way that incorporates Family House values and mission.

 

Key Responsibilities: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:

 

  1. Create and ensure implementation of practices and procedures that support the vision for the programming outcomes of Family House.
  2. Ensure family House vision and mission are modeled and communicated to guests and staff.
  3. Must have experience managing large budgets
  4. Oversee the handling of funds and establish accountability by ensuring your department is properly funded and all funds are accounted for
  5. Supervised assigned personnel (schedules, assigns and reviews work, provides training, receives/responses to grievances, provides discipline, evaluates performance as identified in the personnel policy, etc.)
  6. Interacts with the community to develop new programming that helps clients meet goals of independency and housing.
  7. Evaluate program policies to ensure that they meet client needs, are effectively administered and are fairly applied.
  8. Maintains high level of cooperation among Case Management staff; meets with Case Management staff individually or in groups to discuss concerns and ideas regarding quality of services and/or programming at Family House.
  9. Maintains high level of cooperation between clients and staff; meets with residents individually or in groups to discuss concerns and ideas regarding quality of services and/or programs at Family House.
  10. Completes and/or oversees the intake assess of new clients, including scheduling appointments with necessary community professionals, as necessary.
  11. Ensures stabilization of new residents by familiarizing them with their new environment, including facilitation of new resident orientation meetings.
  12. Ensures provision of one-on-one and group demonstration/instruction on daily living skills in order to foster self-reliance in residents, when appropriate.
  13. Intervenes in crisis situations to diffuse inappropriate client or staff behavior, as required.
  14. Oversight of client referrals for housing, jobs, job development, etc. including proof of residency letters.
  15. Monitors documentation, along with the Operations Manager, of completion of shift duties, including compliance with prior shift notes.
  16. Cooperates with staff to coordinate client incentive program.
  17. Maintains and updates statistical records, including but not limited to census, school aged children, and grievances.
  18. Oversees the documentation of client case notes regarding all client interaction with clients, especially implementation of case plans
  19. Monitors and directly supports resident attendance to appointments, meetings, etc., including phone calls, transportation and planning.
  20. Monitoring the entering and exiting persons from Family House.
  21. Communicates with family’s team to assess needs, evaluate circumstances and develop appropriate treatment goals and objectives as it relates to each family’s case plan.
  22. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance and maintains flexibility to the needs of the organization.
  23. Ensures statistical information is available and provided to management for funding requirements, as needed (United Way, ODSA, CDBG, and ESG).

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of: Social work principles and practices, community resources, human relations, research, statistics. Knowledgeable in retrieving and examining statistical data to provide to management for funding requirements.  In addition to understanding cultural competencies and community outcome expectations such as Housing First, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and Critical Time Intervention.

 

Skill in: Developing and implementing case plans with goals and objectives; word processing, spreadsheets, planning and design.  Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. Supervising and implementing multiple housing programs.

 

Ability to: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation; communicate effectively; develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, residents and supervisors.  Use of sound judgement in the absence of specific instructions. Ability to life up to15 lbs. and walk multiple flights of stairs when the elevator is inoperable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Psychological, Human Services or other comparable degree
  • Ten or more years case management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Extensive knowledge of local community resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fiscal management skills inclusive of budget control
  • Excellent crises management,  problem solving, conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Profound knowledge and ability to implement and utilize limit setting and appropriate boundaries

 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess and maintain valid Ohio Driver’s License and insurability.

State of Ohio Social Work License (Current or within six months of employment)
