Shelter Monitor

Beach House Family Shelter is seeking applicants to fill open part-time Direct Care Staff positions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to meal preparation, cleaning and resident supervision. Potential candidates must be willing to adhere to Beach House’s Standard Code of Conduct Policies. Knowledge of or interest in social services & homelessness is a plus. Starting pay is $11.25 per hour.

Applicants must be available to work shifts:

· 4pm– 12am (midnight)

· 12am (midnight) – 8am

Applicants will work a maximum of 16-32 hours a week:

· 8 hour shifts

· 2-4 days per week

Qualifications

-Must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma or GED

-Must be certified in CPR & First Aid or willing to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment

-Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.regularly

-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion

-Must be able to bend, reach and walk up and down stairs

-Must be able to use vacuum cleaner and sustain repetitive motion

-Must be able to stand, walk and work on feet for extended periods of time

-Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals

-Must be able to work well independently and with a team

-Must have reliable transportation

-Must be willing to work during Level 1-3 Snow Emergencies. Beach House Employees are considered emergency personnel and are still expected to report for scheduled shifts during these times.

-Must pass a pre-employment drug screen & background check
