Zoo Pal/Donor Event Coordinator

It’s not just a job, it’s a Mission.   The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been fulfilling its mission of ensuring endangered species are maintained, researched, and protected for over 100 years.  As the Zoo PAL / Donor Event Coordinator, you would be helping to ensure that the Zoo has the needed resources, provided by generous donors, to ensure that our animals are well cared for and that endangered species around the world are protected with our global conservation efforts.

General Statement of Job:

Under limited supervision, coordinates and manages the Zoo PAL, Legacy and Memorial donation programs and assists with administrative tasks for fundraising and donor appreciation events. Responsible for the daily operations of these programs, including fulfillment of benefits associated with each program. Assists with corporate sponsorship fulfillment with the printing of Companies for Kids tickets and certificates.  This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires forty hours per scheduled work week.  Reports to the VP of Development and Membership.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for the Zoo’s animal sponsorship program; tasks include but are not limited to processing Zoo PAL enrollments, data entry and query processing, answering and responding to phone and email inquiries, create inserts and mailings, update Zoo PAL brochures/recognition boards/donor plaques/animal sponsorship lists etc.

 

  • Assist with administrative tasks for fundraising and donor appreciation events; tasks with include but are not limited to making room reservations, coordinating menus; submitting animal request and education requests, coordinating set up with Security and Park Operations, taking reservations and tracking event attendees.

 

  • Processes Legacy and memorial donations which includes execution of certificates and recognition plaques.   Assists with fulfillment items for Companies for Kids.

 

  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.

Minimum Training Required:

 Ideal Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in marketing, fundraising or communication, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid drivers’ license.

This position requires work on evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by programming schedule or other department needs.
